Healed Work

Nervous about how single-needle or fine-line tattoos heal? See how mine age.

Aftercare

  • You can keep the second-skin bandage on for a maximum of 5 days. If the bandage is irritating, too much sweating has occurred or any other reason, then you can remove it earlier. Once off, follow the next steps.

  • Then gently wash the tattoo with anti-bacterial soap, pat it dry with a paper towel and let it air dry completely. Do this every time you shower as well.

  • I recommend using lotion to keep it moisturized. If you prefer ointment, use a very thin layer. Apply 2-3 times daily for 2-3 weeks.

  • Prevent excess sun exposure, soaking underwater, excess movement and sweating on the tattoo site(I.e. tanning, swimming or intense exercise).

Note: If you must exercise, try to target areas excluding the part of the body where the tattoo is. Still be careful of the sweating though.

  • Do NOT scratch or pick the tattoo while it is healing. The scab aids in the healing so you must protect it.

  • After the tattoo is fully healed, continued use of lotion and using sunscreen while outdoors will help preserve it.
